FAMILY CRAFTS WITH LOVELY

Join us with Lovely as we tap into our creative sides in this winter solstice crafting hour. Together we will be making a variety of child-friendly crafts including friendship bracelets, keychains, pipe-cleaner dream catchers and giveaway cards. WINTER SOLSTICE STORYTIME

Register today to reserve a spot in this unique storytime experience. Together we will be making 3D Snowflakes while listening to solstice themed stories, told by Mimigees. Settle down with the whole family to enjoy this Winter Solstice Storytime. WIINGASHK (SWEET GRASS)

Join us and Elder Blu Waters to learn Traditional teachings on Wiingashk (Sweet Grass) while we braid a bundle for ourselves, as well as one to gift to a loved one for the Winter Solstice. As we explore and interpret various teachings on this sacred medicine, members will further develop their relationship and understanding of Sweetgrass. GENDER AFFIRMING TRANS SUPPORT PROGRAM

In light of Trans Day of Remembrance tomorrow, we at 2-Spirits wanted to announce a new Trans specific support program. We will be providing support for individuals who identify as Indigenous and Trans living within the GTA to receive various gender affirming products. Registration required, all ages are included. THE EFFECTS OF INTERGENERATIONAL TRAUMA

Please join us in this 2 part discussion on The Effects of Intergenerational Trauma. Our first guest speaker is residential school survivor Karen Chaboyer.
Karen Chaboyer is an Ojibwa mother and grandmother from Rainy River First Nation, a community in northwestern Ontario. She is proudly admired by her children, who have witnessed her transformation as she worked through layers of shame and learned to embrace her identity.
Please note this workshop is limited to registered 2-Spirited Youth living in the GTA.
Care packages are limited and will be provided to those who attend both workshops.

RECONNECTING TO OUR ROOTS

As a part of our Winter Solstice 2021 programming, please join us on zoom for this upcoming Indigenous Peoples Hairstyling & Teachings with Master Hairstylist Deandra Courntey Wells

During this virtual workshop on December 11th participants will learn how to style hair, while learning the teachings of why hair is important in indigenous cultures.

For this workshop we recommend that you ask a friend or family member to practice braiding techniques on, if you are not comfortable braiding your own hair for this workshop (mannequins also work great).

Supplies will be provided. Please note, this program is limited to 2-Spirit Community Members within the immediate GTA.
