As a part of our Winter Solstice 2021 programming, please join us on zoom for this upcoming Indigenous Peoples Hairstyling & Teachings with Master Hairstylist Deandra Courntey Wells
During this virtual workshop on December 11th participants will learn how to style hair, while learning the teachings of why hair is important in indigenous cultures.
For this workshop we recommend that you ask a friend or family member to practice braiding techniques on, if you are not comfortable braiding your own hair for this workshop (mannequins also work great).
Supplies will be provided. Please note, this program is limited to 2-Spirit Community Members within the immediate GTA.
Acknowledging all those we have lost, and sharing space for one another around this time is important. In order to provide some support to our Indigenous Trans community we will be hosting a Trans Day of Remembrance Talking Circle next Wednesday November 24th, 2-4 pm with Elder Ma-Nee Chacaby. This is a space for individuals who identify as Indigenous and Trans to gather, share and have some space to ‘de-grief’ after Trans Day of Remembrance.
This program is for 2-Spirited community members living in the GTA. Turkey and Ham delivery will take place on December 14th, 2021. Please ensure you are home on this day to accept your delivery. If you have any questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org or DM us.
