AI is everywhere these days. From ChatGPT and social media to the way we shop, work, communicate and find information, artificial intelligence is already a part of our everyday lives.
But what’s actually good about AI? What should we be cautious about? And what’s just plain ugly?
Join us for an interactive virtual workshop where we’ll take a closer look at AI, how it’s changing the world around us, and how we can use it safely, responsibly and effectively.
Together, we’ll explore:
– What AI actually is and how it’s being used in everyday life
– The good things AI can do and where it can be useful
– The risks, limitations, and not-so-great side of AI
– How AI can be used to create fake images, videos, voices, and information. How scammers are using AI to create more convincing phishing messages, impersonation scams, fake advertisements, and fraudulent websites.
– Practical ways to protect yourself and recognize AI-powered scams and deception
Our facilitator, Teqare, is a 100% Indigenous-owned education and technology training organization providing practical, interactive programming in cyber safety, scam prevention, digital literacy, financial life skills and AI awareness.
This workshop is open to 2S/Indigenous community members residing in Ontario.
Come learn, ask questions and pick up some practical tools you can actually use as we navigate this rapidly changing digital world together.
