2-Spirits is looking to open the very first two-spirit shelter in Toronto. This shelter will aim to support two-spirit people fleeing violence, and will provide individuals with emergency shelter as well as transitional shelter. The proposed shelter program would provide individuals with shelter, support services, access to cultural supports and programs, a transitional employment program, mental health supports, primary care supports, housing supports and much more. Two-spirit people deserve access to shelter supports that are safe and culturally led, based and responsive in the city of Toronto.
